Top IceRiver questions, answered.
Quick answers for software downloads, firmware preparation, setup, pool configuration, troubleshooting, warranty, and support workflows.
Where can I download official IceRiver software?
Use the Software page on this site. The two download buttons link directly to the official IceRiver Monitor and IceRiver MinerTool 7z archives at ice-river.tools - the same files distributed by IceRiver.
How do I find my IceRiver miner on the network?
Run IceRiver Monitor or IceRiver MinerTool on a Windows system on the same local network. Click Scan to list every reachable miner. You can also press the IP button on the front of the device for 1-2 seconds to display the IP locally.
What are the default IceRiver miner login credentials?
All IceRiver miners ship with username 'admin' and password '12345678'. Change the password from the web interface after the first login to protect the device on shared networks.
How do I choose the correct firmware?
Open the miner web interface and read the exact model code (for example KS3, KS5L, AE0). Match the firmware filename - it always contains the model code, e.g. ICERIVER-KAS-KS3-yyyymmdd. Never apply firmware intended for a different model.
Will updating firmware increase my hashrate?
No. According to IceRiver, firmware updates do not increase hashrate. They fix bugs, improve stability, or add features. If your miner is operating correctly, IceRiver recommends not updating firmware.
What should I do if the miner is unstable after a firmware upgrade?
Press and hold the reset button until the D3 and D4 lights flash, then wait until they remain steady. The miner will reboot in a recovery state. Reconfigure the pool and wallet to resume mining.
What is the optimal operating temperature?
Most IceRiver miners operate optimally between 0 and 35 degC ambient. Operation above 40 degC is not recommended unless you have additional cooling and the hashboard temperature stays within safe limits.
What hashrate and power should I expect from each model?
KS0 = 100 GH/s @ 65 W. KS0 Pro = 200 GH/s @ 100 W. KS0 Ultra = 400 GH/s @ 100 W. KS1 = 1 TH/s @ 600 W. KS2 = 2 TH/s @ 1200 W. KS3 = 8 TH/s @ 3200 W. KS3L = 5 TH/s @ 3400 W. KS3M = 6 TH/s @ 3400 W. KS5L = 12 TH/s @ 3400 W. KS5M = 15 TH/s @ 3550 W. AE0 = 60 MH/s @ 100 W. All values have approximately 10% tolerance.
Which mining pools work with IceRiver KS miners?
Any Kaspa kHeavyHash pool works. Popular choices include 2miners, F2Pool, HeroMiners, ViaBTC, Woolypooly, and KaspaPool. The AE0 connects to Aleo zkSNARK pools.
Can I upgrade KS3L to KS3M with firmware?
No. IceRiver does not provide firmware to upgrade KS3L to KS3M. Third-party firmware that promises to do this voids the warranty and risks damaging the device.
Why is the local hashrate different from the pool hashrate?
Local hashrate is the instantaneous output. Pool hashrate is the calculated average from accepted shares over time. Differences within ten percent over 24 hours are normal and reflect statistical variance and network latency.
How do I reset the IceRiver miner to factory defaults?
Unplug the network cable, press and hold the reset button until the D3 and D4 lights flash, then wait until they stop flashing and remain steady. After the device reboots, plug Ethernet back in and reconfigure the pool.
