Firmware Guidance

Model-specific IceRiver firmware support.

Use this page as the firmware entry point for IceRiver KAS, ALPH, RXD, and ALEO miners. Confirm the exact model, verify the local plus any vendor-published file details, and update one device first.

Important - read before flashing

Installing firmware intended for the wrong model can disable the miner, void the warranty, or create unstable operation. Always read the exact hardware name in the device web interface and match the firmware filename (for example ICERIVER-KAS-KS3-yyyymmdd) before upgrading.

-source warning ? checked September 4, 2026

ICERIVER currently tells customers to download firmware only from its website and not to use unmanufacturer sources. Files hosted on ice-river.net are historical third-party mirrors, may be outdated, and are not recommended for flashing. ICERIVER also says that if a miner is operating normally, a firmware update is not recommended.

firmware mirror

Firmware ZIP files in this section were downloaded from public ICERIVER file.iceriver.io links and stored unchanged under /download/firmware/. Verify the model code and file details before flashing.

Firmware mirror status — reviewed August 6, 2026

Local links are version-specific historical archives, not an automatically updated latest-release feed. The ICERIVER portal lists newer entries, including AL2 LITE 20260621, that are not mirrored here. Check the ICERIVER portal first when you need the newest firmware.

Per-model firmware downloads

Pick the package that matches the exact model name shown inside your miner's web interface. Public ICERIVER firmware archives are mirrored locally on this site for faster access; each card keeps the original ICERIVER source URL and file details.

Do not flash a guessed or third-party firmware file. If a direct archive is not listed for your unit, use the ICERIVER firmware download portal and verify the file details there.

Need the very latest build?

The ICERIVER firmware download page lists the newest signed firmware. Open it in a new tab to grab the most recent release for your model and verify the file details.

Pre-update checklist

  • Confirm the exact device model and current firmware version inside the web interface.
  • Download firmware only from IceRiver source locations. Do not use third-party firmware - it voids warranty and can damage hardware.
  • Verify the file details of the downloaded firmware archive matches the one published with the release.
  • Use stable power and uninterrupted Ethernet during the entire upgrade process.
  • If you operate many miners, upgrade one first and confirm 24-hour stability before rolling out to the rest.
  • If the miner is functioning correctly, IceRiver does not recommend updating firmware - flashing does not increase hashrate.

Safe firmware upgrade process

Follow these six steps to upgrade IceRiver firmware without bricking the device or losing pool configuration.

  1. Backup pool configuration: note pool URLs, worker names, and passwords before flashing.
  2. Identify the model: read the model code (KS3, KS5L, AE0, etc.) and current firmware build inside the device web interface.
  3. Download the matching firmware ZIP from an IceRiver source location. Verify the local and any file details published by the vendor.
  4. Unzip the file - the resulting firmware will have a .bgz extension.
  5. In the miner web interface, open Firmware Upgrade and select the .bgz file. Do not power off or unplug Ethernet during the upgrade.
  6. After the device reboots, log in, confirm the new firmware version, re-enter pool settings if needed, and monitor the hashrate for 24 hours.
